چکیده

BACKGROUND Fever is a physiological response activated by integrative interactions between the neuronal and immune systems. The association of fever with development autoantibodies against various self-antigens controversial. We here evaluated if was associated increased levels anti-tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA autoreactive antibodies in children. METHODS This case-control study performed Amir-Al-Momenin Hospital Zabol City from January to December 2018. Febrile children (N=135) apparently healthy counterparts were included. Total anti-tTG measured ELISA. RESULTS From 270 evaluated, 144 (53.6%) 126 (46.4%) males females, respectively. mean age 4.7 ± 2.6 years. total titer 208 100 mg/dl, 15.9 68 mg/dl. There significant difference controls (1.97 1.12 mg/dl) febrile (30.2 94.9 p=0.002). Positivity for observed 16 (11.8%) out 135 while no subject control group had positive results. One cases showed persistent elevated after disappearance. On biopsy examination, this child confirmed have celiac disease. CONCLUSIONS that can trigger production autoantibody It recommended pediatricians be vigilant interpreting results during episodes repeat cease fever. also reassess seropositivity other clinical settings future studies.

Mutagenesis of the catalytic triad of tissue transglutaminase abrogates coeliac disease serum IgA autoantibody binding.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Tissue transglutaminase (tTG) is an autoantigen in coeliac disease and the related disorder, dermatitis herpetiformis. The detection of autoantibodies directed against tTG is a highly specific marker of coeliac disease; however, it is unclear if there is a role for these autoantibodies in the disease process. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the catalytic tri...
